Leaving the barn

2:28 p.m. - Acela Express No. 2171's equipment creeps out of the Boston Service and Inspection building designed and built especially for these trains. Two similar barns exist in Sunnyide Yard, Queens, and Ivy City Yard, Washington, D.C. The yard crew is pulling the string away from the camera to travel the one mile to South Station, where it is due out at 3:12 p.m. for our nation's capital.
