Stockton Springs Switch & Siding

Stockton Springs Switch & Siding - Looks to be out of service for many years judging by the tree growth. Anyone out there know what this B&A line served?
Seems to be near the Cape Jellison Junction.
Update July 12,2004.
The tracks are what remain of a wye and 6-track freight yard and engine house. This branch served the docks at Cape Jellison until they burned on November 8th,1924. The docks were huge, the longest being 1,700 feet and were used primarily to store potatoes and ship them out on freighters. A smaller dock was used by the Great Northern Paper Company to store paper that was shipped out on the steamer "Millinocket" to ferry paper to New York City.

Special thanks to Diane Coose Littlefield, Curator of the Stockton Springs Historical Society for her very helpful historical articles.

Also, thank you to the several other NERAIL fans that wrote to me with their special historical input.
