Not much is known about this incident. According to photo notes, the engineer and fireman were k.i.a in this wreck. Oddly, the NTSB archives does not show an entry for this accident.

I managed to located a quite note on someone elses photo of #713 (while in service) on another site. This locomotive was involved in a highway grade crossing accident with a log truck in Sellers, SC.

Amtrak #713 was a P30CH a/k/a "Pooch" built by General Electric, c/n 40707 and built in September 1975.
