Last railfanning shot of 2005... And I blow it! - MP QR 88.8

CSX Albany Division, River Subdivision / MP QR 88.8
Kingston Yard
Kingston, NY

Boy, did I blow it... This was a four unit lash up heading a northbound mixed through Kingston, NY Yard. The lead unit (better seen in the previous submission) was CSX #4827 [SD70AC].

Well, I wasn't paying attention, and when I realized that the second unit in the consist was a clean and spiffy demonstrator unit marked with a gorgeous GM EMD logo (I'm a fan of all things GM) on the side and EMDX76 on the number boards, I tried to snap off a shot.

EMDX76 is a SD70M-2 with 710 engines for EPA Tier 2 emissions (builders number 200365523 and built in October 2004. [Many thanks to J. Komanesky for his compilation of EMD demonstrator units, where I ascertained this information from.]

The third unit is a GP40-2 from CPRail (can't make out number) and the trailing unit CSX #6149 GP40-2. (At least the post is in front of this locomotive and not the demonstrator!)

The engineer in #4773 (heading south) must have told the engineer in #4827 we were there, because he played "shave and haircut two bits" with the horn for my kids (after blowing the standard "two long - one short - one long" for Flatbush Avenue grade crossing!)

What a way to close out my railfanning for 2005 With a screw up!
