Tank car returns to Bridgton

On Tuesday August 18, 2009, a tank car original to the Bridgton and Saco River Railroad returned to Bridgton, in a location overlooking the roadbed it used to run on, 60+ years ago. This is the smaller of the two tank cars that B&SR had. It was on flatcar 22 until that car became unrestorable. The tank was transfered onto car 14 which held the bigger tank. The bigger tank was deemed excess by MNGRR management and sold to another Two-foot railway, The Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway museum.
So with the small tank now in Bridgton on a lease arrangement, plans are well underway to restore the car to operable condition.
