Photo of Bridge approach signal
Bridge approach signal

This small signal with fixed semaphore warns that the Canal Lift Bridge is only a short distance away. As best as I can tell, the yellow lamp is lit 24/7. "Energy Train" has just passed by. Time: 0920. Signal is barely visible amongst the trees and morning shadows.

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

Interesting. I live nearby and wasn't aware this signal had been installed. When I was a kid back in the 60s, there was a similar signal between the old Monument Beach station and the bridge near the Lobster Trap. It too had a yellow lamp that was always on.
