Baby U-boats in their as-delivered, Independance Class colors, on the Mountain Subdivision. It doesn't get more classic than that!

Most of the train (YR-1?) may be still in Vermont, but the engines are already in New Hampshire (state line is high water mark of the Connecticut River on the Vermont side).

Thanks, Bruce, for a great picture, and for the memories it provokes. 1983 was the year the Mountain Sub was discontinued.
