A face everybody lovesVIA RDC1 6135 is getting some work done on its trucks, crews are replacing a broken spring on the opposite end, RDC 6148 was being stored in the Car Shops and was being used as a part source. I snapped this photo on March 25, 2000 while waiting for the inaugural run of the Pacific Wilderness Railway to go by. At the time the 6135 was the only operational RDC on the railway.
Last Saturday the 6135 hit a Rock slide near the same area that the 6133 hit a downed tree in 1999 about 16 miles north of Victoria, BC in the substantial mountainous region just north of Victoria called the Malahat. The 6148 is now the only RDC that is currently operational as 6133 is being used for parts and the 6135 has sustained major damage.
