Mystery Railcar

When I first saw this, I couldn't identify it, although it somewhat reminded me of New Haven's Goodyear-Zeppelin "Comet" motor train of the mid-1930s.

This strange car was on the rear of a train inbound to the central rail terminal of Montevideo, Uruguay.

Photographed by Thomas McCann, October, 1975.
