2-month Old Erie Lackawanna SD45's at Port Jervis, NYEL 3602 (SD45) and a sister unit head toward the locomotive servicing area at Port Jervis on a late August day in 1967. As my last hurrah after 4 summers working for the EL I was able to arrange a cab ride from Hoboken to Port Jervis on and E8 (leaving about 5 a.m., as I recall) and returning to Croxton on the 3602, which was only about 2 months old at the time. The westbound trip took the old Erie passenger main thru Goshen and Middletown and the return was over the Graham Line and Moodna Viaduct. I don't remember the symbol of the freight, but it was mixed freight and had no Maybrook setout this day, so we ran non-stop Port Jervis to Croxton before returning my employee pass the next day and heading back to college for my senior year. I believe the rear unit was the 3601; I have not found a photo to verify that.
