Photo of Deerfield River Valley
Deerfield River Valley

Symbol RM--3 is westbound. Decades later it would be possible to learn, that the bridge to the right carries Zoar Road. And the train is about to cross the Charlemont-Rowe town line. To make the shot my Kodak Super 27 Brownie camera was braced against a tree on a hillside in Florida, Massachusetts. In just a few years a small chain saw would be needed to make a similar shot.

Did you have a drone 60 years ago? I'm looking at topo and Google Earth and it's certainly not obvious where this capture's vantage point is. Great Bluebird photo! And the so-called Florida Bridge is long gone!
