The engineer on CP 5583 (SD40-2) gets a friendly wave as his unit heads up a 3-unit consist on a CP Rail mixed freight passing the former ERIE/EL depot at Hornell, NY while exercising former D&H trackage rights to Buffalo over Conrail which CP Rail acquired when it purchased bankrupt D&H in 1990.
