Busy Rails in Concord

Wednesday afternoon (12/1) was a busy place for railroad activity in Concord. The opportunity to catch two railroads at work at the same place at the same time does not happen very often.

On the left "Valley" track: Pan Am's NA-1 Crew was heading to the crossover after they finished spotting loaded cars for their clients on that track.

On the right, former "Shop Lead", New England Southern's CA-1 Crew was moving their train out of the way of Pan Am after picking up one tank car for their client in Tilton.

In the Middle on the Main: The remainder of the NA Local.

NEGS would eventually go north onto their own rails, north of the White Mountain Junction switch, Pan Am would head as far as the runaround track in order to take their train south.

At one time, rail activity in Concord used to be a "mundane occurrence" rather than an "event". But catching the "event" is much better than seeing no events at all.
