MBRX 901 by Howard Street in Wilton

Here was MBRX 901 minus their hoppers as it sat solo on the north side of the Howard Street Crossing in Wilton this past weekend. This presented a great opportunity to take in a clear view of the front end of their SW900, that was built as CN 7250 in March of 1958.

The north side of the Howard Street is where the main track ends and where the start of the yard limits on the south side of the crossing begins. It also represents the border between the state owned tracks and the Pan Am owned tracks, which Milford Bennington has rights to operate to get their gravel trains to the Granite State Concrete plant in Milford from the quarry in Wilton. There's a "Derail" in place which separates the Pan Am tracks from the state owned tracks.

If you are looking to railfan the Milford Bennington, there are many accessible, scenic, and safe places to get your pictures of this interesting conveyor belt operation. Mornings are best!
