Photo of P&L 1590
P&L 1590 "Lochmere Ltd" at Rt 3 in Winnisquam

With the sun's angle making it impossible to get a decent picture of the the Lochmere Limited passing by Winnisquam Station, here's a picture of the Southbound Lochmere Limited taken from Winnisquam Station,, instead. This is looking at the Route US Rt 3 & NH 11 & Winnisquam Way crossings in Belmont. A brush cutter was left, and quite a few photographers were out chasing this very rare movement.

P & L 1590 is probably now the most photographed SW1001 out there from this excursion, a true industrial switcher pulling a tourist train. The paint and overachieving hazard stripes came from former owner CIT Group. The 1000hp Switcher has Norfolk Southern, Conrail, and Reading lineage. The Lochmere Limited was heading south into very rare mileage territory on it's way to the end of the Plymouth & Lincoln's operating territory at the border with New England Southern at Silver Lake Road in the Lochmere section of Tilton. After several photo run-by opportunities, including by the Lochmere Trestle, the Lochmere Limited headed north for the return trip to Meredith..

No tricks and all treats for this special run this past Halloween.
