LV's once great passenger car fleet - 1

On an August day in 1968, LV MoW car 94055 rests behind the Sayre shops along with tool car 94061 awaiting the next call to duty for the LV wreck train (Industrial Brownhoist hook is parked in the shop). 94055 was built by Pullman in 1911 as a baggage club car #1002 and then converted to a full club car with 42 seats in 1929. It was modernized to a streamlined parlor car in 1954. And at some point when no longer needed for passenger service 1002 became wreck train car 94055.

Photographed by John Barlow, August, 1968.
