This Circus Train Pic Is Up To' PAR' !

Here is a scene from the final inbound run of the Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus Train Extra as they rounded the curve near Depot Street in Westford Mass.

It was the ULTIMATE demonstration of a true class act, with the Pan Am people giving the final circus train a genuine show of respect by having their vintage perfectly painted pair of FP9's bookending the five engine lineup for this very heavy train. Besides being massively impressed by this sight, I was in total awe by the amount of people (outside of the railfan community) that were out there watching this train go by...

Once they arrived in Nashua Yard, crews split up the train and removed the coaches, while the show's set up equipment and freight went north to Manchester with PAR 1, 503, and PAR 2. They arrived in the dark at about 9:45 pm.

The power group for this part of the historic journey consisted of PAR 1, SD40-2's #608 and #614, GP40-2L(w) #503, and PAR 2.
