View West of Ashokan Crane (MP 16.2)

View west along Catskill Mountain RR/Ulster and Delaware at Ashokan. Except for a few fallen trees, the line is clear to Butternut Cove, about 2.5 miles. After that, there is another 2.5 miles of light brush that needs to be cleared to get to Boiceville. The CMRR/UDRRHS brush crew plans to reopen this segment of the line this spring so that light equipment (nothing heavy can cross the Boiceville Bridge) can move freely between Phoenicia and Ashokan, over ten miles. Flat Car on right is 50 Foot former Army 35112. It is slated to eventually be converted to tourist service as CMRR 274. It was moved to the side to allow better access to the line.
