Maine Central - Lewiston Lower - Our gallent steed !During the first 4 days of June 2004 I had the privlege of traveling nearly 250 miles on 4 sections of the Maine Central RR.
June 1st The Lewiston Lower Branch from Brunswick to Lisbon Falls MP 28.9 to MP 36.8
June 2nd The Rockland Branch from Woolwich MP 38.3 to the docks in Rockland at MP86
June 3rd The Lower Road south from Augusta, MP 62.3 to MP 30.1 at the Bridge in Brunswick.
and finally on June 4th a section of the Mountain Division from Sebago Lake to the ME/NH state line between MPs 18.2 and 51.1.
There is no better way to see a railroad up close unless you do it on foot. I'm posting a dozen or so Lewiston Lower pictures up today and will post a similar number for each run over the next week or so.
This is restored MEC M1152 a speeder bought by the MEC in 1961. It used to run on the Rockland Branch..../DL
