RBEX 20 is the former Bow Coal Plant (Merrimack Station) switcher. The March 1953 built SW9 was sold, and will eventually be on the move westbound to the midwest.

CSXT 6241, the GP40-2, lives on, another week in NH. The L066 Crew arrived in Concord to runaround the SW9.

This shiny yellow former Pennsylvania, Penn Central, Conrail, Quincy Bay Terminal Switcher was often heard, but seldom seen moving the coal cars around at the plant. In April 2020, the 20 was spotted near the coal plant switch, after a derailment. Coal Plant Crews used the 20 to grab the re-railed loaded cars and moved them to the plant. The 20 can be operated by remote control.

The Bow Coal Plant was shuttered for good on Sept 12, 2025 well ahead of a 2028 planned permanent shutdown. The last inbound loads of coal by rail were March 24, 2023.

Looks like the official end of the use of combustible sedimentary rocks to generate electricity in New Hampshire.
