Old mosaicIn the museum at Didcot.
This awesome mosaic stood in the entrance hall of the GWR (London) Paddington goods offices from 1906 - 1986, when the building was demolished.
It consists of over 10,000 small cubes (tesserae) of Italian marble, and depicts the GWR coat of arms, representing the cities of London and Bristol.
It was restored in 2024, thanks to a generous bequest.
