Photo of Big Blue Enters The Curve
Big Blue Enters The Curve

On a grey fall day in 1989, I stopped by Horseshoe Curve on my way home from a trip to Western Pennsylvania. I decided to shoot the rest of a roll of ASA 400 print film (remember that?) and happened to see Conrail SD40-2 6418 and a colleague leading an eastbound downgrade into the Curve and past the PRR GP9 on display.

Photographed by Brian Gilleran, September, 1989.
Added to the photo archive by Brian Gilleran, October 24, 2025.
Railroad: Conrail.
