End of the line

At the bottom of the lower reservoir of Bear Swamp (and across the river from this photo) is the "end of the line" so to speak, for what's left of the existing road bed of the Hoosac Tunnel and Wilmington railroad from here south to the Hoosac Tunnel. A large portion of it was removed and or flooded in the early 70's to make way for the Bear Swamp dam and reservoir. There are other small sections of the road bed that do still exist here and there from north of Bear Swamp into Wilmington VT.
