Photo of A Southbound
A Southbound "More for your Dollar, Holler"

The 2nd day of 2025 brought the Nashua local (L066) to Concord with two empty coastal cars to runaround. They would also grab an empty tank car off the Team Track before heading south for River Road in Bow.

Seeing both GE four axle Dash 8's and / or south facing locomotives have more commonplace in 2024 than in prior years. MEC 5948 was around quite a bit in various times in 2024. The big B40-8 was built new as NYSW 4404 in April 1988. Became CSX 5948, until retired. 5948 was one of many Dash 8's that saw new life in a GE mechanical reconditioning program, tagged as GECX 9056, then sold to Pan Am. MEC 5948 arrived on the system in the summer of 2017, and now owned again by CSX.

Here the L066 Crew was passing the stationary Market Basket trailer that's visible to all from I-93.

Here's to "More for your Railfanning Dollar" in 2025 !
