Sometime in winter of 1955 (or so), my father, a life long traction fan, paid a visit to the Chicago, South Shore, & South Bend shops at Michigan City, IN. He captured freight motor 803 which had just arrived from the west, had yarded its consist, and was proceeding to the motor yard to join the South Shore's other 2 800's and a gaggle of steeple cabs.
