Keweenaw Central #29 in summer of 1969Alco 2-8-0 #29 was one of eight built in 1907 for the Copper Range RR, a mining RR located in Michigan\\\'s Upper Peninsula. It was taken out of service in 1953 but 14 years later was leased by the Keweenaw Central RR and pulled excursion trains out of Calumet until 1971 when the operation shut down (the Copper Range RR shut down a year later). But the good news is that #29 survives today at the Mid-Continent Railway Museum in Wisconsin where it is undergoing cosmetic restoration. Based on the size and shape of #29\\\'s plow, I\\\'m guessing the U. P. got a lot of snow!
