PAS 23K threads its way through Wachusett construction

About 8 years ago, the MBTA invested in an extension of Fitchburg line commuter service out to Wachusett, turning a somewhat decrepit 2 track freight only operation into a much improved 3 track zone. The tie stacks sit on what will become the Wachusett station platform track. NS D9 9280 leads the 23K IM train west - not only has the symbol changed to 265 but 9280 has been transformed into #4589, an AC44C6M 4400 hp unit with AC traction motors. Ironically the rehabbed unit can no longer lead on this section of PAS as it doesn't have the required ACSES PTC capability.
