Mail and Express tra9in #58 eastbound with all flexi-van consist. Power: PC 4015 E-7A, 4025 E-7A, 4075 E-8, 40xx E-7A. All former NYC units. Some of the flexi-van containers had side doors that were expressly for use in mail service. (could be loaded or unloaded while still on flat car). Also some of the flexi-van flats head steam heat lines for use is passenger trains.

Plenty of power for the days when mail-by-rail was still a real priority. This was probably one of the last assignments for the old NYC E-7s.Thanks for capturing this image along with the informative commentary.
