The Freedom Train has departed South Boston and made it as far as Walpole. The wait is for the Framingham-Milford local to finish up and depart for Franklin. AFT#1 will then be cleared to advance and pick up his train orders, continue around the wye and head up to the B&A connection at Framingham.

Pondering ... *If* the New Haven gateway at Maybrook was still a through route from New Haven in 1975 ... might this train have crossed the Poughkeepsie Bridge to reach it, and continue west? Hmmmm!
