Wake up call.

GP-9s on a train the approaching East Portal were able to fill the Deerfield River Valley with sound, well before they showed up. So, there was ample time to climb out of a sleeping bag, put on one's boots and get into position.

I know that sound. All those EMD 567 prime movers notched up in unison produced a throb or beat. The moisture in the air augmented the sound transmission.
