Here we go. CSX will begin tomorrow in Wilton to put in new ties and some new "old rail" on the branch. Scenes like this are along the branch to Amherst. Pan Am used the cheap, smaller ties 2 years ago when they replaced about every 5th tie. CSX is using the bigger and better full sized ties. Some stick rail from Rigby Yard will replace a lot of the 1907 75lb rail still in use today. The rail in the pic was from a ripped up siding where the ties are now.

Those are freshly milled pieces of rail. You can see from the discoloration.
