Based on the shape of the cab, I'm guessing that this Housatonic engine was originally (well, in this body) a Santa Fe CF7. Anyone know?

Looks like 22 was originally built as a standard high short hooded GP7 of the day, ATSF 2722, in 1952. The Santa Fe rebuilt 2722 as a GP7u, chopping the nose, before the BAR wound up with it in the early 90s. Got the info from the rrpictureacrhives.net sight. Hope this helps.

It’s a”Topeka cab”rebuilt GP7 going to G&U for new wheels, not rebuilding. Poster is clueless!
