Haven't been able to find anything on why this SW1 is freshly painted at this time, April of '84, in a B&M scheme. Was she destined for a museum or tourist railroad. If anyone knows, let me know. This is Rigby yard.

Bruce - According to some railroad archaeology, the 1118 was in a one-of-a-kind Bicentennial Minuteman switcher scheme apparently as late as 10/1/83. A photo taken 12/26/83 shows it in this late B&M scheme. It became Springfield Terminal 1400 and was ultimately sent to LTEX circa 2006.

I think this unit had the cab damaged when it was accidently pushed though the hopper unloader at the Bow Power plant. After fixing the cab roof, it would make sense to paint the whole unit.
