Do you know the details of that diamond?

The north side of the diamond went to Peterborough N.H. The south side went to Worcester. Not sure when it was removed. If anybody knows please chime in.

This picture has to date back to the time when the GP-9s were new in the fifties. The diamond was for the former Boston, Barre & Gardner that connected Worcester to Winchendon. The last passenger trains to use this line went as far as Jaffrey. and were discontinued in 1953. It was abandoned north of Heywood in 1959. The beautiful lines of the magnificent Gardner station with the two platforms serving the main line and branch line show in the background.
