The engineer sitting on the cab window sill of Edaville as he backs his train out of sight for the 2nd photo runby of the 1st Saturday excursion on the 75th Anniversary weekend gives a good idea how tiny the locomotives used on Maine's 2-foot gauge railways truly were.
This runby is on the newer shortened loop, which I learned existed because one of the former owners of Edaville felt the 45-minute to 1-hour rides around the entire original loop were too long if the people's average attention span was only 20 minutes. This was an ideal location for runbys, as we photographers were lined up along the edge of a still-active bog and anyone wanting to step in front of a fellow photographer would fall into the bog.
