The old heavy P70 coaches. Rode like a Pullman,

The coaches are stenciled OCN for Old Colony & Newport and were actually owned by the state of RI for MBTA commuter rail service after having been purchased from Penn Central in 1976. Your picture suggests they're enroute to OC&N in summer of 1982 for excursion service where they may have been used for a period of time by OCN along the Newport Secondary. There are on-line photos captured in March 2001 showing these cars rusting away in storage still in their PRR livery along the Newport Secondary. I believe the cars were purchased from RI and then scrapped.
