C&O 614 leads one of the June, 1997 NJ Transit excursions back toward Hoboken as it passes through Black Rock Cut on the former Erie mainline. Black Rock Cut was relatively easily reached at the time by an easy trail from Neversink Rd. in the valley beyond the tracks. It is quite apparent in this photo that a fair number of railfans were aware of the route in to this scenic highlight of the Erie climb out of the Delaware River valley at Port Jervis.
