Photo of Alhambra, California.
Alhambra, California.

A San Bernardino bound train is on former PE/SP trackage, which ended up in the middle of the I-10/ San Bernardino freeway. At El Monte it will swing north to join UP's paralleling Alhambra Sub. East of the station, this train will cross the San Gabriel River, at the same time flying over to the north side. Reaching Bassett it will diverge on a former UP/SP branch line to Baldwin Park. From BP it will follow the route eastward on former SP rails and run onto BNSF's former Santa Fe Second District, near Pomona, for the rest of the run to "San Berdoo."
