AMTK 324 and a sister unit lead Amtrak's westbound Lake Shore Limited through Palmer. Note that train still included 3 cars of head end business. This would be the last train I would photograph on this glorious April day in 1996. In at least 1 photo a hardy New Englander was wearing shorts, and the number of railfans present leads me to believe this was probably the 1st warm April Saturday and a glorious day all around, beyond just the excellent selection of trains provided for those of us present to photograph.
