Not long out of White River Junction, B&M train 8907 is following the Connecticut River at Norwich, Vermont on the way to Newport. Reaching home rails at Wells River, it will become CPR train 907.

The nice cant on the curve, the exhaust and train snaking around the reverse curve all lend to the action "comin" atcha" qualities of this photo. The Alcos always look like they mean business.
