When I was a kid I loved the few times my family would drive this stretch of the Jersey Turnpike: not only were there planes, trains (Penn Central, Lehigh Valley, and Jersey Central back then), and ships to be seen but there were odd stenches and various colored flames coming out of the refineries along the highway - stuff we didn't see/smell in the boondocks of upstate New York!
