GMTX 1505 by White Mountain Junction in Concord.

The New England Southern Crew made the full run on 1/20 from Concord to Lochmere to Concord, and back to Canterbury Yard. This is the first run for the SW1500, back on it's traditional home rails since mid-August 2020. The track on the right is the White Mountain Branch, the track on the left is Pan Am's small active remnant of the Northern. The White Mountain Branch switch is just to the south of this picture.

Keen observers will notice some slight changes to the SW1500. It left "These NH Rails" as NEGS 2555, with the cab end facing south. It arrived in Concord as GMTX 1505 with the cab end facing north. The shiny yellow paint, two of the "5s" as in 2555, American flag decals, and the small New England Southern decals survive. For the NEW: New owner - GMTX, new road number- 1505, new numbers painted by the hood headlamps, and a new sounding horn. (I liked the sound of the old horn.) Unseen: lots of work was performed on 1505 in VTR's Burlington shops.

Here was the NEGS Crew taking two loads that were stored in Canterbury Yard, south, for interchange with Pan Am in Concord.

This area was once part of the very large Concord Rail Yard.
