Lehigh Valley Potpourri 1: Fallen Flags

It goes without saying that photos of freight trains from the 20th century feature cars of many now extinct railroads but this 1969 photo of an LV freight lugging a bright yellow 50' box featuring red trucks owned by one-time interurban RR Illinois Terminal bears posting. By 1982, the IT would be absorbed by Norfolk Southern who would honor "The Road of Personalized Services" with a bright green heritage unit.

Photographed by John Barlow, 1969.
