Morning rush.

This train is nearing the end of the eastbound climb to the Arizona Divide near Riordan. At the time the railfan's real challenge was the chilly pre-dawn trek across the parking lot, separating a warm bed at Motel 6 from a filling Breakfast at Denny's. If that could be managed, the Transcon offered a generous reward: an eastbound parade, already under way, lasting into mid-morning and a westbound one from mid-afternoon, stretching on into the night. .
