EMC Senior Citizen switching Horizon Milling at Stockton

In a March 2007 sunset, 68 year old SW1 in stealth livery shunts covered hoppers around the then Horizon Milling plant south of Stockton, CA alongside the UP. A few years earlier #87 had been lettered for Cargill which in 2007 is majority owner of Horizon (and today the plant is an Ardent Mills facility). SW1 #87 was built by EMC in 1939 for the CB&Q and still sports its single bulb headlights fore and aft.

Photographed by John Barlow, March 28, 2007.
