Rotterdam Junction, New York.

A train of "West Shores", cars to be interchange delivered to NYC, (and later Penn Central), has crossed the Mohawk River and arrived at Rotterdam Junction. With authority to enter PC trackage in hand, the train pulls ahead, stretching across the Mohawk River once again, to get between signals. After that the power will cut away and run around its train, to go against the end having a B&M caboose. Before long the crew will be ready to move their train east to Selkirk Yard.

On the B&M train symbol was BM17 originating at Rigby Yard with crew change at Fitchburg, MA. Nice photo! Was photo taken from signal mast?
