Amtrak Northeast Regional sb at Old Saybrook

One of 15 Bombardier–Alstom HHP-8 electrics leads a string of Amtubes at the rebuilt Old Saybrook station platform in the summer of 2003. These high maintenance cousins to the Acela power units lasted only about 10 years in Amtrak NEC service with the last unit retired in the fall of 2014.
