Thank you, Al Hale, for being there at West Medford on this September day seventy years ago. B&M P-2-a Pacific #3625 is at the station, and as the safety valves indicate there is full boiler pressure. The the fireman looks out from the cab window as he takes a little rest. The 3625 was built in 1911 and was scrapped in 1955. Pacifics like this one were the mainstay of main line commuter power before the diesels and RDC's took over.
