The Maintenance Never Ends

Hard to know what was being worked on and what was just being stored here.We are at a New Haven car repair facility at the namesake city. Somebody must have got a bargain from the ailing Rock Island as evidenced by the homemade baggage and express car that is visible in the foreground..Penn Central will inherit all this to add to its many other maintenance headaches in less than three months.

Photographed by Ron DeFilippo, October, 1968.
