About 4 years prior to NS acquiring D&H South Lines from CP, Montreal bound CP train 253 powered by red, green, and yellow locomotives starts up the 1% grade at Phelps St in Port Dickinson NY. The summit at Belden Tunnel is about 12 miles ahead.
